HOW MUCH DOES CATERING COST?
This is the question we get asked the most! The great thing about catering, is there are no set prices! You, the customer, only spend what you want to spend. Each job is individually priced and unique to you.
DOES GANCE'S HAVE A RESTAURANT?
We did. For over 50 years Anthony Gance, (Father of Mike) Owned and operated Gance’s Restaurant of Endicott. Gance’s closed its doors in 2002. The Gance legacy continues on through our multi-generation catering company.
DOES GANCE'S ONLY CATER AT ONE DEDICATED FACILITY?
Gance’s is a off-premise catering company working all over New York and Pennsylvania. We can work at your location or we’d be happy to recommend one. Check out some of the venues we've worked at before.
HOW DO I KNOW IF GANCE'S CAN CATER AT THE FACILITY OF MY CHOOSING?
Ask the venue if they allow outside catering. If they do, Gance's will contact them to make sure we know all the rules and regulations before moving fowared.
DO I HAVE TO CHOOSE JUST ONE MENU OR CAN I CUSTOMIZE THE MENU FOR MY EVENT OR FOR GUEST'S SPECIAL NEEDS?
We can create a custom menu from our many selections, taking into consideration such factors as the time of day of the event, season, and clients’ special dietary needs.
IS YOUR FOOD BOXED AND FROZEN OR MADE FRESH?
Our food is prepared with fresh ingredients and stored in our licensed, full-service kitchen in Binghamton NY, where the highest standards for food service preparation, handling, and storage are constantly monitored and maintained.
DO I GET TO TASTE THE FOOD BEFORE I BOOK MY CATERED EVENT?
YES! We encourage you to do a tasting! We can arrange food samples for your hard to make choices. We will discuss the particulars – time, cost etc. with each client individually. Since we are not a restaurant, we limit our tastings to 2-4 people.
IS A WAIT STAFF PROVIDED WITH THE FOOD?
Wait staff is a per-event basis. We will appropriately staff all events based on your specific event. We have experienced waiter and waitress that have worked with us for many years.
We charge a labor charge, but it is not a gratuity that is distributed to the employees.
WHAT DOES THE WAIT STAFF WEAR?
Our wait staff wears all black to your event. Other arrangements can be made by request. Picture Here
WHAT IS INCLUDED WITH A FULL-SERVICE PACKAGE?
Gance's provides all food service equipment, linen, and wait staff for your event. Most event sites will have, at least, tables and chairs. The remaining items must be brought in. We will coordinate any dish rentals and any other items you may need. We will contact the rental company of your choice, order the items, and make sure they are delivered and picked up in a timely manner.
WHAT IS DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE GRAND BUFFET, AND THE COMPLETE BUFFET?
Complete Wedding Package (CWP) 7 hours of on-site service, setting of dinning room, Site visit with Our coordinator before the wedding, and the wedding day, All linens included, Appetizers included (grazing table..)
Grand Buffet (GB) 4 hours of on-site service, do not set dinning room, day-off coordinator (no pre-site visit), linens for buffet only, appetizers not included
DO YOU PROVIDE RENTALS, IF SO, HOW MUCH?
We do not provide our own rentals. However, we work with many vendors to get you the best pricing. Prices vary from company to company, but we've found that a full place setting averages around $5-6 per person.
DO YOU DECORATE THE CATERING TABLES OR DO WE HAVE TO PROVIDE DECORATIONS?
Gance’s will decorate the food serving tables using our items, the host’s, or a combination of both.
HOW FAR DO YOU TRAVEL?
We will go where the road takes us. All travel outside of the Binghamton area is subject to a service charge or mileage charge.
WHAT ABOUT BAR SERVICE?
Gance’s does not posses a liquor license. We work with a 3rd party to supply bar service for your event. We handle this on a per-event basis. Please call for more information.
